Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, EDMRIA-Approved EMDR Therapist,

Introduction to Kalli Portillo
I am a Registered Mental Health Intern, trained in providing safe, inclusive, and affirming spaces for people of any gender, sexuality, race, culture, and belief system. I am an EMDRIA-approved EMDR therapist who loves helping clients heal and find hope. EMDR is considered the “gold standard” in treating trauma, grief, and anxiety. For clients with depression, difficult phases of life, or relational challenges, I use a kind and gentle approach to talk therapy that empowers clients to find strength from within. As a Certified Prepare/Enrich Couple Counselor I am also trained in providing therapy to help couples find a renewed sense of hope.
I understand that not everyone feels comfortable sitting on a sofa and talking to a therapist. Because of this, I offer walk + talk therapy in public at the Bayfront Park and the Bay Park in Sarasota. There are many benefits to walking next to water and combining this with therapy presents clients with an effective, non-traditional option for counseling.
