Introduction to Jennifer Freel
Jennifer Freel has a BA in Psychology from the University of Maryland and is a graduate student in the Counseling and Mental Health program at New York University. Previously, Jennifer worked as a therapist specializing in perinatal mental health and early family dynamics at the Parent and Family Wellness Center in Boulder, CO. Jennifer has a deep understanding and compassion for new parents and how challenging incorporating a new life into your family can be. She has worked extensively within the context of perinatal mood disorders including, postpartum depression, anxiety, and psychosis. Jennifer’s research focuses on perinatal health and wellness for all members of the family. As a mother of 2, Jennifer has personal experience with the many joys, struggles, and realities of parenthood. She has a deep passion for helping individuals and couples move through life’s transitions and honors each one’s unique journey. Jennifer’s comprehensive whole-person approach incorporates elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and somatic (body)therapy. She understands that each person is multi-dimensional and works with her clients to create a whole person therapeutic concept. Her work is rooted in empathy, openness, and connection.
