Master’s Level Graduate Student in Mental Health

Introduction to Brittani

I earned my BA in Psychology from Florida International University, with a minor in behavioral analysis. I then moved to New York City to pursue my Master’s in Applied Psychology at New York University, focusing on School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling. My clinical experience includes working in Brooklyn schools with immigrant students of all ages who had experienced significant trauma. I also worked in nonprofit settings supporting young adults and older adults alike facing challenges like homelessness, addiction, and personality disorders. During this time, I spoke throughout New York City, advocating for expanded mental health resources and educating young adults on critical topics in mental wellness. For five years, I had the privilege of working onsite with children in schools throughout the Northwest of Haiti and in the Dominican Republic, which deepened my understanding of cultural sensitivity and global mental health.

Currently, I am completing my Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling at Alfred University to obtain licensure. I lead with empathy and a deep commitment to the healing process of those I work with. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow. I strive to bring compassion, curiosity, and respect to each session, fostering a collaborative environment that honors each person’s journey toward healing.
