Introduction to Tim

Tim Nelson is a master’s level intern in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Florida State University. He received his BA in Pastoral Care & Counseling from Southeastern University located in Lakeland, Florida. He has experience counseling at the Florida State University Center for Couple and Family therapy as master’s level intern, and spiritual counseling in Correctional Institutions. Tim is open to working through relational stress, religious trauma, or any other challenges in life that may occur. His approaches to therapy are collaborative, involving Narrative Therapy and Person-Centered. He also incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques into his sessions through mindfulness and emotional regulation techniques. His main focus is to give each client the individual care that they need to achieve their goals.
